Blodslitet is an orienteering race, long-distance, ultra-long-distance, organized every year by Fredrikstad Ski Club. This race is the oldest local race still held in Ålesund and takes place early in the fall, usually in September. In 2025, the race will take place on Wednesday, September 10 at 6:00 PM, starting at the top of Fagerlia with a total length of 6.71 km. The course includes tough uphill sections but becomes easier towards the end, and trophies are awarded to the best female and male runners.
Highlights
- The race has a long history dating back to the early 1980s, with the first event in Blodslitet in 1982.
- The course record for men is 23:07, set by Lars Roger Lundanes in 1985, while the women's record is 24:35 by Live Johannessen Solheimdal (2023).
